Child Okeford

Status: Feasibility

Number of homes: TBC

Site size: 4 hectares

Local authority: Dorset

Child Okeford is a picturesque village in the heart of the North Dorset countryside. Our site is at the northernmost tip of the settlement, bordering one of the village’s two conservation areas and within easy reach of the multitude services and facilities Child Okeford has to offer.

We’re working with the landowner, multi-award winning architect Pollard Thomas Edwards, and planning consultancy Rural Solutions on a proposal for new Custom and Self-Build homes; new public open space and play; ecological enhancements and new native trees and hedges; and improvements to highways, footpaths, and drainage.

The proposal

Our aim is to create high-quality new homes strongly influenced by the character of the village and to enhance and maintain the positive characteristics that make the area special.

We will do this by:

  • Creating a great place to be in which feels like part of Child Okeford
  • Providing choice and diversity in the homes we offer
  • Enabling people to build beautiful, efficient houses
  • Creating people-friendly streets and open spaces.
